Posters for exhibition ‘Annoying, Too Loud, Too Messy’ and the publication ‘Burning Questions for Design Pedagogy and Theory’
2022
It goes without saying that to be among the callous, the cynical, the unbelievers, is to be among the winners, for those who have lost are never hardened to their loss; they feel it deeply, always, into eternity.

Which “Burning Questions” for design pedagogy keep you from sleeping at night? Where do you spot mistakes, omissions or blind spots? Which questions do you have for today's decision makers or the next generation? Which current structures would you like to address? Which question makes you angry or emotional?
We submissed two posters to the open call for the exhibition and the publication. The project is run by Amyra Radwan and Sina Gösele, who study in the Communication Design Master’s Programme at HAW Hamburg. Their study paths lead them through different institutions where they experienced how in comparison they all vary in structure, student body and curricula. Reflecting about the current discourse, quite a few questions regarding design pedagogy came to light. Amyra and Sina are convinced that today's teaching will influence the design field for years to come, just as the past is still prevalent in present structures and discourses. Instead of talking about design pedagogy we aimed to outline and discuss the ideologic and economic context of design and set a realistic framework rooted in the power of queer negativity.
The exhibition and publication launch took place at Grönigerhof, Hamburg in April 2022.
